HUB 01 · Air Fryer Toaster Ovens

The Best Air Fryer Toaster Ovens for Pizza

Pizza asks two things of a countertop oven: room for the pie and heat under it. Ranked on the published interior that takes a real 12- to 14-inch pizza and the temperature ceiling that decides the crust — with the honest ceiling none of these ovens gets past.

#ad · Prices pulled live from the Amazon Product API, last checked Aug 8, 2026. Where we have no verified live price we show none — we would rather leave a gap than print a number that has gone stale. The wattage column is what the manufacturer publishes; “not published” means exactly that, and we have not estimated one. Scores are ours, compiled from published specifications, and are not test results.

What actually matters for pizza

Two things, and neither is a preset called “pizza.” The first is whether a real pie fits — a 12-inch frozen pizza or a 13- to 14-inch homemade one needs an interior that publishes at least that width, not an optimistic claim. The second is the temperature ceiling, because crust is a function of heat: the hotter the oven, the faster the base sets and the better the browning. This page ranks on published interior first and stated temperature ceiling second, and it names the limit that applies to every oven here rather than pretending one of them is a pizzeria.

The Cuisinart Chef's Convection Toaster Oven (TOB-260N1) wins because it is the only oven here whose maker publishes both the fit and the power in one place: a stated 13-inch pizza in a 0.95-cubic-foot cavity at 1,800 watts, with a list of what fits rather than a vibe. Our full review is here. That checkability is exactly what you want when the failure mode is a pizza that will not go in.

Reading the order

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900) is second: a one-cubic-foot interior that takes a 14-inch pizza, with Element IQ driving the heat where the crust needs it — the most oven of the group, at the widest footprint and the highest price. The Ninja SP101 is third and the small-kitchen answer, with a stated 13-inch pizza capacity and a chassis that flips up against the backsplash when you are done. The Oster 42L French Door is fourth on raw room: 42 liters behind doors that clear almost no counter, big enough for two pizzas or a pizza and something else, for under $200. Its review is here.

The honest limit every one of these shares

None of them is a pizza oven. A dedicated pizza oven runs at 700–900°F; these top out between 450 and 500°F, which is fine for frozen and good for most homemade pies but will not char a Neapolitan crust in ninety seconds. The one oven on the site that reaches a true 500°F in a high-density cavity is the small Panasonic FlashXpress, and it is too small for a full pizza — so it is the trade in miniature: heat or size, not both. If a blistered crust is the whole point, no countertop oven at this price delivers it, and we would rather say so than sell you a preset.

How to choose

Match the interior to the largest pizza you actually make, then take the highest temperature ceiling you can within that size. For a family the TOB-260N1 or the Breville is the fit; for a tight counter the flip-away Ninja keeps the capacity and reclaims the space; for two pizzas at once the Oster is the cheap way to the volume. If size is the priority, the large-capacity picks go further, and every pick here is assessed from published specs and owner-reported behaviour, not our own testing — how we judge is here.

Cuisinart Cuisinart Chef's Convection Toaster Oven (TOB-260N1)

The best-documented interior in the category

Cuisinart Chef's Convection Toaster Oven (TOB-260N1)

Wattage and volume both publishedDeep cabinet footprint
8.6/10

The only oven here whose manufacturer publishes both a wattage and an interior volume in cubic feet on the same page. 0.95 cubic feet at 1,800 W, with a stated list of what fits — a 13-inch pizza, a 9x13 pan, nine slices.

Power
9.5
Usable space
9.5
Footprint
5.5
Documentation
10
Value
8.5

What it gets right

  • 0.95 cubic feet published in the same place as the 1,800 W rating, which makes it the easiest oven here to compare on paper
  • Within 5% of the Breville Pro's interior for a good deal less money
  • Fifteen functions including a genuine dual-cook mode that runs two temperatures in sequence

What it doesn't

  • 530 mm deep is a lot of counter — deeper than the Breville Pro
  • Fifteen functions on a backlit panel is a lot of interface between you and heat
  • Cuisinart lists this model as discontinued on its own site, so availability moves around

What it costs to run

About 33.9¢ an hour at full draw, or $61.86 a year at 30 minutes a day, 365 days a year and 18.83¢ per kWh.

1,800 W ÷ 1000 × 182.5 h × 18.83¢ = $61.86

1800 watts as published by Cuisinart on the TOB-260N1 product page, alongside the 0.95 cubic foot interior figure. This is an upper bound: the elements cycle off once the cavity is at temperature, and no manufacturer publishes a duty cycle, so we compute at full rated draw rather than invent a correction factor. The full method is published.

Skip this if…

your counter is shallow. At 530 mm deep this is the deepest oven on the list, and depth is the dimension people forget to measure until the door will not clear the backsplash.

Breville Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS)

The one to buy if you will keep it a decade

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS)

Wattage published in the manualWidest footprint here
8.5/10

The most completely documented oven in the category, and the only one at any price whose manufacturer publishes a rated wattage, an interior volume and a full element layout in the same place. You pay roughly four times the category floor for that, and about a third of the premium is the documentation itself.

Power
9.5
Usable space
9.5
Footprint
6
Documentation
10
Value
7.5

What it gets right

  • Breville publishes the rated wattage, the interior volume, the exterior dimensions and the element count — almost nobody else in this category publishes all four
  • 1 cubic foot of interior is genuinely a small oven, not a large toaster: a 14-inch pizza or a 9x13 pan fits without diagonal gymnastics
  • Element IQ drives the six elements independently rather than switching them in banks, which is the actual mechanical difference behind the price

What it doesn't

  • 21.4 inches wide is wider than most upper-cabinet clearances allow you to slide it under
  • At the current price it costs more than several full-size wall ovens' worth of countertop convection you could assemble from cheaper parts
  • Thirteen functions is nine more than most households use; the presets are the same elements at different set points

What it costs to run

About 33.9¢ an hour at full draw, or $61.86 a year at 30 minutes a day, 365 days a year and 18.83¢ per kWh.

1,800 W ÷ 1000 × 182.5 h × 18.83¢ = $61.86

1800 W is the rating plate figure in Breville's own instruction book, not a marketing headline. This is an upper bound: the elements cycle off once the cavity is at temperature, and no manufacturer publishes a duty cycle, so we compute at full rated draw rather than invent a correction factor. The full method is published.

Skip this if…

your counter is under 24 inches deep with the backsplash, or you are buying an oven mainly to make toast and reheat pizza — nothing about this machine's price is recovered on those two jobs.

Small counters that still want 1,800 W

Ninja Digital Air Fryer & Toaster Oven, 8-in-1 flip-away (SP101)

Stores vertically
8.2/10

The one genuine answer to a small kitchen that does not involve giving up power. It flips vertically against the backsplash when you are done, which is a real solution to the only problem this category consistently creates.

Power
9.5
Usable space
6.5
Footprint

Documentation
7
Value
8.5

What it gets right

  • Flipping up against the backsplash reclaims the counter without unplugging and lifting a 20-pound box into a cupboard
  • Full 1,800 W — the compromise is storage geometry, not power
  • Capacity is quoted as a 13-inch pizza and nine slices, both of which you can check against what you actually cook

What it doesn't

  • The flip-away design means a shallow single cooking level; there is no second rack position to gain
  • The hinge and the vertical stance are the whole product — if you were always going to leave it out, you are paying for a mechanism you will not use
  • No published interior volume, same as the rest of the Ninja line

What it costs to run

About 33.9¢ an hour at full draw, or $61.86 a year at 30 minutes a day, 365 days a year and 18.83¢ per kWh.

1,800 W ÷ 1000 × 182.5 h × 18.83¢ = $61.86

1800 W as published in SharkNinja's own SP101 quick start guide and brand listing copy. This is an upper bound: the elements cycle off once the cavity is at temperature, and no manufacturer publishes a duty cycle, so we compute at full rated draw rather than invent a correction factor. The full method is published.

Skip this if…

you have the counter space to leave an oven out permanently — you would be paying for a folding mechanism instead of interior room, and the DT201 gives you two levels for less.

Oster Extra Large 42 L French Door Countertop Toaster Oven, 10-in-1

Interior volume publishedNo published wattage
6.5/10

42 liters, stated as a number rather than an adjective, behind doors that open outward from the middle. That combination — big, measurable, and easy to reach into — is unusual under two hundred dollars.

Power

Usable space
9.5
Footprint
4.5
Documentation
5.5
Value

What it gets right

  • 42 liters published as a figure — roughly 1.5 cubic feet, larger than any Breville here
  • French doors clear far less counter in front than a single drop-down door
  • Air fry included without the price jumping into Breville territory

What it doesn't

  • No published wattage from Oster, so we show no running cost
  • A 42-liter cavity takes longer to come up to temperature than a 25-liter one, whatever the element does
  • Two doors, two hinges, two latches

What it costs to run

Oster publishes no wattage for this oven in any document we could find, so we do not show a running-cost figure for it. We are not going to estimate one from a similar model. Here is the method we would have used.

Skip this if…

most of what you cook is for one or two people. The whole efficiency argument for a countertop oven is heating less air, and 42 liters is a lot of air.

How we picked

Ovens we claim to have cooked in: 0

Everyone in this category tells you they roasted forty chickens. We have roasted none, and we say so. Here is what we do instead: read the manufacturer's manual and spec sheet, record the published wattage, interior volume, temperature range and warranty term, work out what the oven costs to run for an hour and for a year, show the arithmetic so you can redo it with your own electricity rate, and cite all of it. Where a brand publishes no wattage, we print no running cost rather than borrowing a number from a similar model. Prices come live from Amazon's API and disappear rather than go stale.

The scores above are judgments from that documented research — not test results. One of the five metrics is Documentation: whether the manufacturer will tell you what its oven draws at all. The full rubric, including what disqualifies an oven, is published in full.

Questions

Frequently asked

What size air fryer oven do I need for a 12-inch pizza?
An interior that publishes at least a 12- to 13-inch fit. The Cuisinart TOB-260N1 states a 13-inch pizza in a 0.95-cubic-foot cavity, and the Breville BOV900 takes a 14-inch pie in one cubic foot. Check the published fit rather than trusting an 'XL' sticker.
Can an air fryer toaster oven make good pizza?
For frozen and most homemade pizza, yes -- these ovens reach 450–500°F, which sets a base and browns cheese well. What they cannot do is char a Neapolitan crust; that needs a dedicated pizza oven at 700–900°F. Heat, not the air-fry setting, is what makes the crust. More on the settings here.
What is the best air fryer oven for pizza?
The Cuisinart TOB-260N1, because it publishes both a 13-inch pizza fit and its 1,800-watt rating in one place, so you can verify the pizza will fit before you buy. The Breville BOV900 takes a larger 14-inch pie for more money; the Oster 42L fits two pizzas for less.
